On the Radio: WAER 88.3 and 105.9 The Rebel

2.14.16 – It was a day of radio fun for the Ruddy Well Band as they made guest appearances on the WAER show Common Threads with Larry Hoyt in the afternoon, and then later that evening on the WXTL show Sound Check with radio host Dave Frisina. The day of love was spent promoting the first ever Folk Off, and Ruddy Well was joined on Sound Check with friends The Old Main in order to help kick off the event.

Larry Hoyt’s show, Common Threads, airs every Sunday on 88.3 from 2pm – 6pm and features an entertaining mix of traditional folk music and selections from both legendary artists as well as local acoustically-based singer/songwriters. “Together, traditional folk and contemporary acoustic music intertwine as profoundly influential common threads in the fabric of American musical culture.”

Dave Frisina’s show, Soundcheck, airs every Sunday on WXTL 105.9 featuring a special blend of handpicked music by the Syracuse Area Music Hall of Famer himself.

Both Hoyt and Frisina are huge proponents of music in the local Syracuse area, and should be commended for their support for music and the arts. By making appearances at shows, helping to promote/host music performances, and playing and supporting local music on the air, Hoyt and Frisina are truly an integral piece in fostering and nourishing our music scene here in Syracuse.

Here’s a taste of the Valentine’s Day radio show guest appearances of the Ruddy Well Band and The Old Main:
